Romans 12:4-5
4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

From the Pastor's Heart!

Could we for a moment focus on the last 8 words of this verse?  I find it unsettling when I hear someone say they don't need to go to church.  My first question is, can an arm live without the rest of the body?  Can a toe move without the foot being attached?  In either case the answer is an emphatic NO!  So how can we expect to live a healthy spiritual life on our own without the rest of the body?  Let's say you make it to heaven without attending church, fine then how do you explain to God why you ignored those last 8 words found in the scriptures?  And each member belongs to all the others.  Notice also in that verse it tells us that "we do not all have the same function."  Can I run the race and finish without my leg, maybe but it's not going to be as easy as having two legs.  Can I carry things with one arm, yes but I could do more with the use of both and so it is in the church.  Can we really function at full capacity and excel in our calling as the body of Christ with missing members?   Not only do we rob ourselves of spiritual strength but we make others run the race with a disability.  None of us want to hurt someone intentionally but whether intentional or not, the outcome is the same.   Whether we want to admit or not, we need each other very much and we need Christ most of all.  The word of God tell us that He is the head and we are the body, we cannot function without him and I may be able to make it without you but it sure would be much better with you.

I’m the Pastor and that’s my perspective

P.S. Grammatical errors are always guaranteed.   Lol!!!!
